HOMELAND IS
The unique sky that shelter us
because there is no other one
at any place in the planet.
The air that brings
the mountain, valley
and coasts aroma.
To see the flowers blooming
all year round
and rejoice in its beauty.
To listen our own music
traditional, patriotic or popular
written and sang by our people.
To drink the coffee
produced, processed
and prepared in our national territory.
To enjoy a gallo pinto (1) or a tamal (2)
in the home warmth
in peace and harmony.
To go a soccer game,
baby shower
or neighbors or school meeting.
To laugh at the fair
or to cry at the funeral
to attend or to be part in any civic activity.
To have the freedom to vote
the first Sunday of February
and to a national party out of it.
To grow up in family,
to go t school
and give more good families.
To preserve and to transmit
our ancestral traditions
worth values.
Homeland is an abstract noun, an intangible possession
a small spot in the map to see its location
but such as a beautiful place that anything and nobody can change.
