COSTARRICAN ARMY IN HOLLYWOOD

The movie Fahrenheit 9/11 shows Costa Rica supporting the Iraq war with its
"army": an oxcart. Some co-workers made fun of it, even the customers from
the store where I work. They think we are nuts because of the absent of an
army. I wish you could see their faces when I tell them "our army are the
school and high school students; however, recently there is a new saying:
the army are the ants, the air force are the toucans and the navy are the
turtles". They always laugh. It's true. An unique ecological peaceful army.
An army that doesn't destroy and live with us in full harmony. An army that
makes our country more beautiful...

A soldier asked me how can we live without an army Well, we really do not
need it. That's a prove we are peaceful people and we know how to live in
peace with the rest of the world. Without an army, which country is going to
invade us? Costa Rica is a mini spot in the map but is so so rich in
biodiversity; small in territory but big in a natural army.
